Spherical roller bearings are designed to accommodate heavy radial loads and axial loads in both directions. They can also accommodate misalignment and shaft deflections with virtually no increase of friction or temperature. The insert bearing design includes an inner ring that is extended in one or both directions and equipped with double set screw locking. When the set screws are fully tightened, the shaft is held firmly against the inner ring.
